Windows Central Question

NL 920 often hangs up while charging.

My 920 with latest Russian Cyan version often hangs up when I plug it in for charging. When I plug it in, say, at 18.00 and check it at 20.00, I see the same time (18.00) when I plugged it in. Some guy on a Russian forum told me, it`s a sign of coming death.
Do you know how can I fix this issue?

Re: NL 920 often hangs up while charging.

Hmm this looks very strange. My Lumia 920 on Cyan works fine. That said it's a British Lumia. It's not a sign of coming death but it does sound like the OS got stuffed somehow. Try making a backup of all the stuff on your phone then use the Nokia desktop tools to reflash the firmware. And know that this is a very unique problem to have found.

Re: NL 920 often hangs up while charging.

Thank you, Daniel, for your answer!
Well, you are right, it`s very strange, because I had no such issues with earlier versions of WP 8 (amber, black). So, now I have read in a forum that it might be because of the temporary files in the memory and I have deleted them. Will see if this is going to help.
As for reflashing the firmware, I did it a month ago, because I had this issues with WP 8.1 PFD Cyan version of firmware installed. And I thought maybe the reflashing to "normal" Cyan version will help, but it didn`t. After a few days after reflash, this issue recurred.
So now I will wait and observe if the deleting of temporary files helped.

Glad you found a solution yourself. Please keep us updated on how it works out. That way we have either a solution, or the means to help you find other solutions. I personally am out of solutions but there's likely somebody else here that will be better equipped to help.

Is it car charger? I wad having that problem with a car charger for my work truck and my Icon shut off completely 4 times during a phone call. Could be the charger or the USB port shorting somehow and causing it to shutdown.

Daniel, well, the deleting the temporary files didn`t help because the phone hung up again the next day, so yerterday I`ve restored the phone to the factory settings and now waiting what will happen.

No, it`s not. I always use the charger only that comes out of the box. A white round euro standard charger with USB port and USB-to-micro USB cable. And mine didn`t shutdown for itself, it hung up showing on the Glance screen the time of several hours ago when I plugged it for charging. So now after I`ve restored it to factory settings, I am curious if it hangs up again.

Update: So now I`d like to update all who have same issues. I had WP8, then I installed WP8.1 PFD, then I had problems with my phone constantly hanging up while charging.
Possible solution in my case was: I reflashed my L920 using Nokia Recovery Tool on my comp and still had hung-ups, and then restored it to factory settings. Now after two and a half weeks, I guess, the phone runs without any problems. The only thing what I do to prevent it from hunging up is that I preventively restart it one a day. That`s it for now.

Update 09.04.15: It got stuck again while plugged in! Crap!!! It was in battery saving mode with about 19 % of the charge and I plugged it in to charge. As I looked at it in about 20-30 minutes, it got stuck showing the time of 5 minutes ago and did not react to any of my actions. So I had to soft reset it.
