Why does my screen appear black whenever I press the camera icon?

why my screen appears black whenever i press the camera icon

Whenever I start my camera by pressing the camera tile only a black screen appears and not the picture which I m trying to capture. I m using Lumia 520 ,updated to 8.1 .

Try to do a soft reset on your device and see how things go...

Try resetting the camera button to Nokia Camera instead of the default camera .
