Why does my Windows 10 icon open and close immediately?

the windows 10 icon in the systray closes immediately after clicking it

I am having the exact same problem, I clicked on upgrade/reserve windows 10 app in the corner and it opens for a few seconds and closes immediately, please help! I have genuine windows, sp1, and automatic updates are on.
