Why doesn't OCR work in Office Lens?

Every month my client has a new password for the guest WiFi network. (I cannot use the BYOD network, because I use Windows RT, thank you Cisco!)

Yesterday I wanted to be smart and I took a picture with Office Lens in "Document" mode expecting the OCR to pick up the characters and make it easy for me to copy and paste the password. However, no matter where I look: Word, PDF, OneNote: it remains a picture and the text is not selectable. Even when opening the Office Lens picture in Word, PDF reader or OneNote on my Windows RT laptop it doesn't work.

How can I enable OCR?

Thanks!

OneNote has the OCR feature - go to desktop OneNote, right click the picture, and hit "copy text in image" (this is from memory, so I'm rusty here)

I would think saving it as a doc might do at least SOME OCR stuff too...

Turns out my picture had too much shades in it. That's the reason for not doing the automatic ocr.
