Why has my Lumia 525 screen become black?

My Lumia 525 screen has become black!

I dropped my phone yesterday, but when I put it back together the screen remained black. Even after battery reset , my keys vibrate and I can hear notifications and even sound of tapping the keys on lockscreen. But the screen remains black and I cannot do anything .
I have tried a soft reset.
Pls Help!

Probably a connection in your phone got disconnected during the fall.
Check on YouTube how to disassemble your phone and reinsurt the flexfoils into the connector on the main board.

I'm not really comfortable opening my phone up. Is their any other way?
BTW I am using wp 8.1 if it helps

Welcome on WC but I am sorry that the reason is a problem with your phone.


There are 2 possibility's.

It's software
A soft reset should solve it but if that does not work you could try a hard reset (but all data on your phone will be erased ).

Its Hardware related.
"Loose" connector.
If you do not feel comfortable to open it you maybe could try to."shake" and hope the contact will be re-established.
Other damage like missing component or broken screen.

So if hard reset does not work ask a technical person or send it for repair.
