Why has my phone ringtone disappeared?

I've just realised that I am missing calls because the phone doesn't ring when it's dialled. It can vibrate, but there is no sound. I can't find a volume slider to check if it is at minimum. Non of the range of ringtones work either.

What device are you referring to?

Almost every (if not all) Windows Phones have physical buttons on the side, the longer one being the volume control button. Pressing that will bring out the on-screen volume control slider.

I have the same problem with my lumia 535 and i have narrowed it down to my memory card, every time i remove it, the ringtone slider will resurface but as soon as i put the sd card back, it disappears again. Please is there a solution for this?

Singular! Have you tried using a different SD Card and see if the behavior is unchanged?
