Windows Central Question

This window used to always pop up when I plugged them in asking me if they were headphones, and I always said yes, but I checked a box that said basically to stop popping up to ask, because it was very annoying. Now the window won't pop up anymore and headphones are not registered in sound. And I have tried going to the control panel with sound, but only speakers is in there even if I have checked show disabled devices.

I'm assuming you're using a windows 10 device. Go to settings (press windows key and i at the same time) > open System > sound > scroll down until you see 'sound control panel' > open it > plug in your headphones.

If you see the headphones then set it as default. If you don't, well it's over...

Kidding, you might have a driver issue. In the 'sound control panel' you should see the name of the default audio mechanism (using this, because I'm lacking a better word lol). Open your favorite browser and search for the latest drivers. Download and install. You might need to restart your system.

Hopefully that solves your issue. If it doesn't, MAYBE the 3.5 mm jack is damaged :/
