Why is my People app using a crazy amount of my battery?

Weird battery usage by people app.

I picked up a used ATT Lumia 1520 a few days ago and have had this usage issue with the people app. Its using a crazy amount of battery in the background and I can't seem to stop it. I have already hard reset it twice trying to get rid of it. Anyone have any ideas?

I have experienced a similar problem (but not as outrageous as that), and posted a thread about it - you may read what other users have said about it, but in general the consortium seems to agree that this is caused by the app running under lock screen or not being fully terminated (i.e. set to multi-task after pressing the windows icon in the navigation bar).

Thanks for the info. I always go into the multitasking and close the people app after I use it so it should be completely off.

Very strange thing. I don't ever recall this happening on my 920.
