Why is the hard reset failing on my Lumia 535?

hard reset is getting failed on my lumia 535

frnds....help me...i updated to windows 10 new tp on my lumia 535...after that i decided to hardreset..but it is getting failed.after showing gear symbol it shows " :-( " this symbol and get switch off...i removed and reinserted the battery ...but when i switch on it again shows the gear symbol..so i cant use my phone..help me pls

You have to use the Windows Phone/Lumia Recovery Tool, no other option. Happened to me before, can't really pinpoint what happened either.
