Why is the screen black but it is still on?

I turned on my phone this morning, and the screen was black. The bottom buttons turn on, the alarms go off, and it rings when its called, but the screen is black. Ive tried resetting and no luck

Have you dropped it recently? It sounds like your screen might have gotten "unplugged."
