Band 2 device not recognized when connected with microsoft band sync on a laptop

I downloaded and installed Microsoft Band Sync on a Windows 7 laptop. I was able to sync the band with this app the first day. However, on subsequent attempts, I am not able to get the app to recognize the band when I have it connected to my laptop. I have tried various ports without any success. My attempt to uninstall the app in order to reinstall it also failed. The app remained on the laptop even though it has disappeared from the list of programs in the Control Panel [Uninstall programs].

TIA for any help.

Perhaps uninstall Band Sync and reinstall? Or if you say it isn't in that list, run the installer and reinstall. If it offers to uninstall/repair, uninstall and then reinstall.

Band 1 never did work on a Windows 7 machine - no drivers for it. I don't know if Band 2 is any different. Are you sure you synced that first time? Or was it just to "wake up" the Band and start the setup process? Or did you end up syncing on a different machine with a newer version of Windows?
