Why my Lumia 930's mic doesn't work? Can I expect a fix after windows 10 update?

I happen to notice that out of the 3 mic's present on my 930 only two (I guess) are working while one is not working at all. This is so frustrating since I am unable to use it when I put it on speakers while in a call, unable to record voice messages on WhatsApp, unable to record any sound while taking videos (particularly in portrait mode).
I also want to know whether this is a software or hardware issue & whether this will or can get resolved after updating to windows 10. If any of you are having its solution please let me know, particularly those who are currently using windows 10's latest builds. Thanks in advance!!

Have you tried a Hard Reset or used the Windows Device Recovery Tool to reflash the phone? This would rule out software and if the problem continues it is 99% certain to be hardware.

No I would not expect an update to magically fix this issue.

I think this is a software or firmware issue since my Lumia 930 has no MIC problems before the denim update

It's a hardware problem. A workaround is to use headphones with a mic in them. Then you can record videos with sound.

The only thing which fixed mine was to get it repaired (actually they gave me a new phone).

Hard resets, OS/firmware updates etc did nothing, so if you have a warranty then that's the only option.

This is hardware thing, send you phone for a repair.
