Why isnt my unlocked nokia lumia 521's 3g not working

I live in America and for some reason my 3g wont work my service is T-Mobile. It says that its turned on, but for some reason it wont work help.

T-Mobile doesn't have 3G everywhere so depending on where you are trying to find their 3G service matters
