Why isn't Windows 10 installing?

Windows 10 will not install

I am trying to update from 8.1 to 10 (Asus ES1-531-c1g1). After answering the usual questions the Windows 10 setup files down load and then ask if i want to install, No problem so far.
I start install and the progress bar shows a couple of small steps then it freezes, 4hours later still frozen.
Any ideas?

Have you disabled your AV before continuing the upgrade process? And you sure, its ASUS instead of Acer.

What is AV that needs to be disabled? Are you talking about release 10532? I am not able to install that.

He's talking about antivirus software. Some of them depending on the type and manufacturer seem to be causing trouble for folks.
