Why my wi-fi gets disconnected after upgrade to Windows 10

WPCentral Question

I recently upgraded my Dell Inspiron 14Z from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. After the upgrade, my Wi-Fi gets disconnected frequently. After looking at Microsoft Support forums and Dell forums, I made sure the network driver is up to date by uninstalling and re-installing. Still the issue is not resolved. Sometimes, the Wi-Fi gets connected by using Troubleshoot Problems option available after right clicking the Wi-Fi icon and sometimes that does not work. I have to re-start the computer. This is very inconvenient. Why isn't Microsoft doing anything to fix the issue?

Microsoft isn't doing anything because it isn't their job to write software drivers for 3rd party hardware.

Here is what you can do: Download the latest Windows 7 driver for your laptop (if available), extract it and perform a manual driver installation via the Device Manager. (Uninstall all currently installed WLAN drivers, then add the driver by navigating to the .inf file of the extracted driver.)
