Why no love for OneNote?

I'm going to bring this thread back to life rather than start a new one because I've been playing with one-note for a while and I just don't get it - I get evernote, it makes perfect sense to me - I just can't seem to get one-note in the same way - what am I missing?

What's not to get it one note? It is a notebook, with different pages inside. Saves automatically. Sync automatically.

What/how do you use Evernote that is not translating for you? I've used OneNote personally and professionally since its release in 2003 and don't know what I would do without it. It's a very natural physical notebook metaphor with incredible hyperlink and search support. Having a OneNote mobile app was THE reason I switched from BB to the HTC TyTn 8525 back in the day and have never looked back

I love Onenote, I have used it on desktop PCs and Notebooks for years, it is great for note taking/brainstorming/collecting ideas for projects...
I was very happy to find it on my WP, I use it almost daily!

It is actually my most used office app on my phone!

I was a huge OneNote fan since I started using my Lumia 800 back in 2011, but I switched to Evernote a few months ago. The key advantage I see in Evernote is not just the ubiquity across platforms as well as services, but the speed and frequency with which the company iterates its products.

Evernote for WP may have started out a poor, bare-bones cousin of its iOS and Android siblings but they have actually put in effort to improve it to the point where the Evernote app for Windows Phone today is actually more powerful than OneNote Mobile. Meanwhile, OneNote Mobile has had practically no improvement since debuting on WP7 and WP8 respectively (WP8 users correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know if Microsoft has ever updated/improved the OneNote app for WP8 since launch).

Evernote has even updated and improved its Windows 8 touch app really quickly over the course of a few months. OneNote for Windows 8 is really good too, but like the mobile version, it seems to be at a standstill. I also have an Android tablet; don't even get me started comparing Evernote and OneNote for Android...

Just so you know, MS released an OneNote Android App as well (free).

That app is only free for so many notes and then you have to buy it.

On topic, I use OneNote for my Uni work and I love it. Having all my notes everywhere is great. I use a Surface RT and I have the touch version of OneNote installed as well, it's prefect for taking notes in class. All my lecturers use it as well so sharing notes is much easier.

I love It! Checked Evernote and it offered nothing I couldn't find in OneNote.

It syncs perfectly between desktop, iPad and WP. I love sharing a notebook with my gf to do the shopping, paying bills, etc.

I'm sure it's partly my fault for being a non-techie person, but I tried OneNote and didn't like it at all. All I wanted to do was create reminder notes that would sync between my WP8 phone and my desktop. The phone part was easy, but the desktop part just seemed very difficult to figure out and not user-friendly at all. For my simple needs, I found that the To-Do function on the built-in calendar app in WP8 works perfectly for what I need it to do, and syncs effortlessly with my Outlook.com calendar.

It's nice but for business purposes but I really needed ink/drawing feature for wp8 / iPad app. That's the biggest need at the moment...
