WHY the anti-WP7 bias?

Windows Mobile leave a bad taste on their mouth.
Android/Iphone are way easier to sell.
People come looking at the stores looking for Android/Iphone devices by name.
WP7 offers no real value over it's competitors.

Etc...

They should at least be knowledgeable about all platforms their employer carries and leave it up to the customer to choose what he/she wants. They should have fully functional phones for the customer to play with and make an informed cecision!

As a former TMO rep, let me tell you how hard it is to get people interested in WP7.

Since I'm a techy I always wanted to know the "ins and outs" of all the platforms we sold. I personally have a couple of BBs (8900 & 9780), a Nokia Astound, an HTC Amaze and HTC Radar. I spent a lot of time getting to know these products.....which is something that few sales reps do. Trust me, the people I worked with only knew BB and Android.

With that said.....when your store is displaying 8-10 Android phones, 3-4 BBs and 1-2 WP7s.....the first thing people do is gravitate toward Android. They are "wowed" by Amoled displays, big screens, 8 mp cameras, customized wallpapers, etc. No matter how much I tried to talk up WP7.....their eyes were glazed over by everything else.

It doesn't help that 99% of sales reps either have a BB or Android phone. They don't understand the beauty of WP7.

With that said.....there are some short comings with WP7, that annoy me today and it seems to annoy lot of potential customers, but I still love the platform.

As an FYI, I use my Radar more than my Amaze. :)

Nowadays I despise Google and Apple. iPod and iPhone are gone, Bing is my default search engine and I'm starting to use Vimeo a lot more. Never have and never will touch a Mac, although sometimes the odd friend asks me to sort theirs out (even though I don't own one). It's never a pleasant experience.
I've despised Apple for a long time; only recently have my opinions on Google started going downhill. However, I manage a lab that relies primarily on iMacs to run experiments (though using Windows would be easier and better) and it's always interesting when I have to do maintenance or fix problems. :dry

Oh, and the funny part is that the computers are always on the Windows side when experiments are being run. :giggle: "But Macs are so much better~" pfft.
