Why won' the keyboard on my desktop except key stokes?

My keyoard on my desktop won't except key stokes.

My husband set a new lap top using his same identity info as our desk top. Now the My keyboard on my desk top will allow me to log in but then it doesn't recognize any key strokes.

I know something like this happened to me when the settings on my Windows 10 laptop synced with my Venue 8 Pro and the keyboard stopped working. You will have to figure out the settings in the Ease of Access settings.
