Why won't my Lumia 720 boot up?

Lumia 720 won't boot up

We have a Lumia 720 at home, and it seems that the device, after locking it using the power button, dies completely. When I try to press the power button again, it does nothing. So I tried holding it to try to reboot it, but no luck. The volume down key is also busted for some unknown reason. We had it fixed before, but it came back. So my only luck was trying to boot the device with the power button. I realized it will wake the device up, after quite a few tries. But yes, it will restart the device. So far, it has happened twice, and this has happened after having Win 8.1. It never happened during Amber or Black. The occurrence of this is quite rare, though. But it has happened twice indeed. Any thoughts?

Hello, have you tried a soft reset, when the phone is on and working?
A soft reset is when you press both the volume down + the power buttons at the same time until the phone vibrates and restarts.
