Why wont my Nokia 520 download the 8.1 update?

I bought the phone a year ago and have been good with it. There isn't much problems beside the space. The download is available now but every time I try downloading it, it fails to do so. I currently have 2.13 gigabytes on my phone, is that the issue? I'm really confused so please if anybody has an answer, share. ;;

I would try deleting any unused apps to free up some space.

We need more info. Does it show it's available. If so what error is displayed when it doesn't download?

Backup phone, download Nokia software recovery, flash Cyan firmware, install preview for developers, update till 8.1.1, reset, start using phone after updating all system apps.
