Why won't my Nokia Lumia 800 start?

My Nokia Lumia 800 wont start

It went off about a week or so ago, had just unplugged it from charge when it went off, tried all i can, nothing, took it to the nokia care centre and was told the software for supporting the lumia 8oo was nolonger available, please help...

Does it power on when the charger is plugged in?
