Why won't my phone connect to pc?

Ok, so my phone is dead (i mean flex cable) and I can no longer charge it anyways. Till I get my new housing, is there a possibility that I could charge it through two holes on the back by connecting some wires from a power supply? Anyone knows which one is + and -?

It is possible to get the USB flex cable out. But not without doing irreversible damage to the phone.

Well, yeah, no doubt lol. But don't think some would like to fix the phone by damaging it further. So in this case - checkmate! :crying:

Well a new housing is around 20 bucks, which isn't horrible and is a much simpler fix than trying to replace the USB flex cable by itself. What I found weird is I bought two defective 1020 with the same problem of the flex cable. Didn't work from the moment open the box. But I finally fixed my 1020 with a new casing I bought off of Ebay.
