Why won't my sim card work?

I bought an unlocked Nokia Lumia 822, but my metro PCS sim card will not work. Why??? Every time I put it in it says no service. I updated it and looked for access point but I couldn't find it.

Yes, I activated it. My sim card works fine in my other phone.

Oh right... T-Mobile (metro pcs) is a GSM network, and Verizon is a cdma, afaik. I don't think they're changeable.

Under cellular it says the phone will automatically connect to any kind of gsm network...

Did you put the phone into GSM Mode? Settings>cellular+sim>SIM Settings>Mode Selection

I don't see cellular+sim just cellular with no sim settings. I'm still on 8.0.1

It could've been black listed. Check with Verizon if the phone is not marked as blacklisted in their database
