Why won't my Windows phone play captured 4k video?

windows phone wont play captured 4k video

Ok. So i took a video in 4k, and i wanted to watch it. No. Its over 5 minutes and is 900mb, but it gets to 2 mins and the video crashes and sends me back to the camera roll screen. Tried watching it on surface rt, and it crashed on opening it. What is going on?

What kind of Phone are you using?
Is your Surface up to date?

I have a lumia icon and everything is updated on my surface. I tried playing the file on my desktop, and it crashes the media player at the same point it does on my phone. So the file is corrupted. Is there any way i can fix it, or maybe convert it to 1080p for a smaller file to load. I never changed the setting from 4k because i know there is some issues with large 4k video files and playback.

There is always some issues with large 4k video files for playback. A suggestion is to downscale 4K video to 1080p for better enjoyment.
