Why Wouldn't an HDMI be on the Surface Pro?

You want two HDMI or DVI or VGA outputs in the same connector? Never have seen one.

I spoke too soon... just clicked on the monoprice link above and there it was on the same page. But you will still need a mini display port cable to connect the box to the SP3.

That's nifty. More than I wanted to spend, and larger, but that's the idea. Picture something like the 3-way adapter above, but with two of the same outputs, whether it be HDMI, DVI, or VGA, instead of the one of each, and let it run two monitors without one of them being a mirror of the other. As it is now, I have a 3 way adapter like above, output that to one monitor, and a USB video adapter to DVI going to another. I have them on articulating arms, higher than the Surface, so if you can picture it, the three look like an inverted pyramid. Get a DP adapter that will drive both monitors and eliminate the USB video adapter (Hey - there's only one USB port, right?)

How does using an adapter with multiple outputs differ from using monitors that support "daisy chaining" because they have both DisplayPort In and Out? It seems the adapter would work to support multiple monitors regardless of whether or not they have an output but is the performance and capabilities the same?

The monitors I already have do not have DisplayPort.
