So on my device, Lumia 925, the WiFi hotspot will still disconnect when the screen turns off. I'm running 10586, which makes me wonder if MS shipped a product with a completely broken feature, or if it's somehow hardware related and the 950 fixes it. Can anyone test and see?

LOTS of stuff is broken.

But are you saying it disconnects active sessions or that it shuts off if nothing is connected? I assume you mean the former but wanted to make sure.

Yes, the former. I have a device connected to the WiFi hot spot, then when the screen times out on my phone it disconnects.

I'm on the 928 for Verizon and hotspot hasn't worked on the last 3 builds I keep getting connection not shared hotspot unavailable it works perfectly fine on 8.1

Thank you for chiming in, but I'm specifically asking 950 owners about the Wifi Hotspot on the 950.

As a data point I'm running a 830 RM-985 and the hotspot works fine. I'm typing this reply over a hotspot connection via my phone with netflix running in the background and the phone screen has been timed out for about 15 minutes now. Have 10586 on both the laptop and the phone. So definitely not a universal "windows 10 is broken" thing though perhaps with some phones and their associated special-sauce firmware revisions there might be systemic issues. Hopefully it works as well with my 950XL when I get it in december.
