Will 520 be supported for atleast 2 years by Microsoft?

Hi,

I have been thinking about this for quite sometime, my brother is thinking of buying a 520 but he is not sure whether 520 will be getting the updates from microsoft because of its 512 RAM. I have heard that 520 will get the 8.1 update, just wanna confirm how long will microsoft back up these phones which have 512 MB ram, I myself own a 720 Also how long will these phones be running in the league.

P.S : we are not games frenzy !

I think for not long. Probably until 8.1, but not after. 512MB RAM is just too little. Why not get Lumia 525? The price is identical to Lumia 520.
