Will a bad SD card lead to problems

Hi, my ATT 950 is just horrible to use. So my battery suddenly has gotten embarrassing like it'll drop 20% in 30 mins of me just using whatsapp and listening to music and it just started happening recently somebody mentioned to me that my sd can be to blame and I was planning to get a new sd card anyway because I wanted a larger size but can a bad SD card be to blame for my phones horrific battery as if late or should I just try and get a new battery(probably will do both but an sd isn't as much as a battery and I need one anyway) I literally have nothing running on this phone and it'll heat up and my drain my battery im so fed up I just need that to be fixed ive tried hard resets and using the software recovery tool but still no change. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also my sd card seems to be going bad because picture won't show up in the photos app unless I take it out and out it back in
