As the recent another security breach of android called hummingbad , and now some companies start to re consider about their Boyd policy. And in the meantime, as Microsoft w10m turn direction to enterprises/business, would this could be an opportunity for windows 10 mobile devices?
As NYPD started to use windows phone and US government phase out blackberry, all adds up with the security issue of android, if MS do things right this time, it could be an blessing for win10M .

We really don't know at this point.

BlackBerry is still making Android devices that get security updates every month and cannot be rooted. The Priv is already available, and more devices will be released this year.

Companies could also choose iOS.

Security rarely gets sales, though. If security were that important, BlackBerry 10 devices would be the best sellers.

Might not for regular consumers, but for business, institutes and possible government organizations, security is number thing to take care of. That is why blackberry has been used by US government for the last decade until recently. And that is also companies used to only allow device provided to employees and contractors for work related staff.
and if the security issue of android keep coming, the BYOD policies from enterprises would definitely consider go back to provide devices to employees and contractors, or limited their Own devices on work/business affairs. Thus, companies would need to decide which kind of devices to purchase and provide to their employees, hence the new enterprise focusing windows 10Mobile device manufacturers could try to push those devices to them.

The key factor is "used to". I know someone who works for a Fortune 500 company which dumped BlackBerry for iPhone or Samsung Galaxy S6.

I do think the honeymoon is about over though. As fewer people upgrade each year the lack of regular updates to the majority of handsets is going to highlight the security holes more and more in the media.

Nah, people don't really care.

It is the same reason people still use windows even though there are still vulnerabilities.

Besides, on any platform, the biggest security vulnerability is the user. As long as the user does not do anything stupid, like downloading unknown apps, the user can get by safely.

I think more than likely what will happen is companies will go to iOS. Apps are already developed there for business and enterprise. That's what my company does. If you don't have an iPhone, they give you an iPod touch. Much cheaper than a phone.

The trouble is, just like Windows Phone itself, what may make sense may not always become reality. It all depends on how seriously Microsoft takes this, and whether companies give more weight to Windows 10 Mobile phones security over what may already be incumbent iOS and Android because of cost, ecosystem advantages etc. Also Windows still has a stigma of an insecure OS with many people.

Take Credit card companies here in the US, they have been extremely slow in taking up Chip & Pin because, from what I have read & listened to, the losses due to fraud were far less than what was required to upgrade everyone to better security. Cost often trumps security.

Still, anything that gives Windows 10 mobile a real reason to be, rather than just a side line "hobbiest" OS can only be good, since with security they have to pay more attention which in turn creates a better quality OS

Yeah... I was speaking more to the consumer impetus to look for security in light of all the recent news about infections in Android and iOS + the US Federal Inquiry by FCC and FTC as to why consumers can't get their Android handsets patched.
