Will Plants vz Zombies work on my kids touchscreen W10 tablet?

I asked PopCap about this question and the only response is that "it's not optimized for touch screens." Thanks for being as vague and unhelpful as possible.....

Has anyone played the game on their W8/W10 tablet? Does it work ok for touch screens? My son inquired about downloading the game but not if it doesn't work well. Thanks.

I have used it on a touch screen. While it will work, there is some functionality that is limited. It was designed and introduced years ago before PC tablets hit the market, and it was designed specifically for mouse input.

Let me explain further... While "hovering" over a square, you will get an indicator of a square being available.

Since I can generally "see" for myself whether or not a square is available, I never really had an issue with it, and discovered that I could more quickly and easily place plants with my fingers than I could with a mouse, and with a lot less damage to a repetitive disorder. Basically, when on a touch screen, the game will behave much like it does on iOS, Android, or Windows Phone.
