I believe its in the cards.

But I wouldn't make any fancy moves like buying a phone in anticipation until we know more.

actually it would be. usb in w10m has otg and even more usb drivers (or what they are called). but if it would be backwards compatible with current handsets i cant tell...

I'm actually kind of curious if the Lumia 940 and 940 XL with USB Type-C connectors, if they can use USB to Ethernet connectors. Only time will tell,I suppose.
