Will there ever be BBM on WP's???

During the MWC blackberry and Nokia announced BBM for Lumia phones, but till now its seems like a stale gist.... I just want to know if someone have any idea if BBM for Lumia phones is still in work or if ots a dead project cos Facebook announced its messaging app days after BBM was announced for Lumia phones and without wasting time we had the Facebook messenger downloaded into our phones.
