Will using a youtube app or a different browser decrease data?

Will using a youtube app or a different browser such as Opera mini or UC Browser decrease data usage rather than using IE? I recently switched from an iphone 3GS to a Nokia 635 and am shocked at how much more data this phone is using with no change in usage. I have gone in and shut off all sorts of things including background and this has helped some. Thanks!

Opera mini is well known for compressing webpages to lower data usage. I think you should try that.

I personally use metrotube, but I'm not fussed on data usage.
