Do you think it is possible to get those new cool "Modern" flat icons from Win 10 TP and use them in Win 8.1?

I believe it should be possible. You can try this - How to change desktop icons in Windows 8

Get the imageres.dll file from Windows/System32 of a Windows 10 installation and replace the one in Windows 8.1 (make a backup of the original file first; or don't if you're adventurous like me :winktongue.
