Win10 on Virtual Machine guide?

LOL someone should type out a Dumb down guide for us newbs

I tried to google it but most of the stuff i found baffled me a bit :/

So yeah, any of you tech guys(or girls) should write out a simplified version for those of who want to use a VM but not quite sure how to set it up properly without screwing anything up lol

(Sigh...curiosity will probably get to me and I'll wind up installing Windows 10 on my OG Surface Pro. I did run the Windows RT 8.1 beta on the Surface RT i believe lol )

1. Burn disc or copy files to a bootable USB drive.
2. Put disc in drive or USB into USB slot.
3. Open your VM software, create a new VM, give it the suggested specs for W10, and assign to boot off USB or DVD.
4. Start up your VM
5. Install Windows 10 and follow the directions on screen.,
6. Enjoy WIndows 10 on a VM...

Not that hard, is it ?
