Windows 10 and photos has messed up my canon elph 135

Ignores windows photo gallery - my main, ignores DOBE ELEMENTS 12, Uses "photos" can't find pics wants to download 2145 items and I cannot find where it puts them! How get photos out of the way, get my programs and camera back?
