My setup:
Does anyone know from experience if I choose to upgrade 8.1 to 10 and "keep nothing" whether it would format/overwrite the "D" drive? I would assume not. What I would expect is that Windows 10 would be clean installed on the SSD, I'd then have to recreate the user accounts and then redirect all the documents, pictures, video and other folders to the "D" drive, but the contents of "D" would still be untouched by the upgrade process. Can anyone verify that?
(Of course, regardless of whatever I do, I'll back everything up just in case.)
- Drive "C" is a 128GB SSD which has nothing but the OS, which is Windows 8.1.
- Drive "D" is a non-SSD drive with all our (it's a family PC with four user accounts) Documents, Music, Videos, Pictures, OneDrive, etc. (I used "Move" on all the important folders a long time ago to get everything from "C" to "D".)
