Windows 10 Mobile build 10549! How do you like it?

I really find the Skype messaging integration annoying. Need an option to be able to disable Skype and keep it for text messages only....unless that exists and I'm missing it.

More generally, missing WP8. WP10 has lost the beauty of WP8, looks more like another Android ROM now. Shame.

Been using for a couple of days now on my Lumia 920 seem a lot faster and smoother now! Store works as well all apps back up and running fine generally more stable no freeze's not had to restart at all battery lasts longer e-mail and web browser working normal etc.

Further updates? I did a clean install using Windows Device Recovery Tool. It loads Denim as part of the package so there is only the update about the reboot issue after that. Then I loaded Windows Insider and set it to Fast Ring and rebooted. Checked for updates and down came Win10. Checked for updates after setting it up, then did a Phone Reset so that it simply went with Win10 as the foundation instead of Win8.1 then upgrading to Win10. Having the experience I detailed previously.

Well, I've been running this new update since its release. So far, I have been fairly pleased with this update. I have experienced a major load screen lag today. This is just my speculation, but I noticed it right after I added several new tiles to my start screen. After the screen loaded, I unpinned the new tiles and I have not had the type of lag like before. It will still happen for a few seconds, but nothing as frustrating as the last build. I think it may have something to do with memory allocation or how it handles loading lots of tiles on the starts screen. I'm hopeful this issue will be ironed out by the next build...certainly by public release. They still have a couple of months time to iron it out. Still very usable as a daily driver.

For a simple user like me it's 99.5% usable. I have workarounds for the two bugs listed in the other thread, so in reality it's no problem at all.

Just finished installing 10549 on my 640XL. Swiped it with the recovery tool back to initial state... Registered it with the Windows Insider App and started the updated. Took 1h and went smooth... Quite happy so far...

Has anyone installed this on a 520? I'm mostly just too busy to update, but I wonder if it's loading the start screen reliably on the 520 in this build.

I've been running it on my 520 for about 5 days. There are two updates, 10549.4 fixed the resuming screen, but I'm still seeing the loading screen every now and then. It's OK. Tonight I took a phone call, checked voicemail then I could not get messaging to work. Had to reboot. It's those kind of annoyances. There are a whole lot of app updates, so if you update, give yourself some time.

Lumia 1320 - getting similar issue with mine - while the overall speed and responsiveness have improved (not quite 8.1 class, but getting closer) I have been having a similar reset issue. Usually when unlocking the phone, but have also had it when switching between home screen and loaded apps. Phone appears to go unresponsive for a few seconds, then boom!, the NOKIA logo appears and phone restarts. Not sure if another full reset would help here - when I rolled back to 8.1, I logged in with my MS account as normal, did NOT restore data, but did allow Store to update the core apps. Then ran insider app to start the upgrade process. The upgrade also ran faster this time (or seemed to!)

To summarise - better fit and finish, faster, but spontaneous reboots a new 'feature'

I too have 1320, same build. My phone crashes randomly too, especially when I'm using the store.

My other problems include:
- when I first type on Edge, I don't see what I type
- error downloading Australia speech language
- loading... still there when opening system apps, though less millisecond than last build
- photos has no live tile
- after the phone crashes, sd card apps doesn't immediately return.
- still a lag to open the action center
- still lag on swipes, though it is lesser in this build

Aside from these problems, the build is good.

Most of the builds I used I did a reset after update if there was any issue.
I did get a config update after update this time (AU 1520)
Camera had no controls initially ? one hell of a web cam though. ;)

I installed it on my 720. Though the UI was snappier and more fluid than the previous builds, apps tended to crash more often. A restart rendered the apps on the sd card unusable even though that issue was solved in the previous build. I had to do a hard reset just for this issue so that i can install my apps on the phone itself. And then there was the battery drain which didnt make the matters any better. My phone drained completely in 10hrs even with light usage. All these issues made me go back to 8.1 yet again. Waiting for the next build now.

I've found similar behaviour when I go to save a picture from MS Edge browser to one drive OR the device. It just crashes the app and goes back to the Browser.

Simply beautiful! I was on WP8.1 for the first time after my 640XL was shipped to me last month, and I think this is gaining on that snappiness.
This one seems to be performing better than 10536, and the battery life is better than the previous build. The performance is edging closer to WP8.1.

Problems with typing long messages still remain. The keyboard becomes laggier as the message becomes bigger.

I will however wait for a few days and see if this degrades like 10536 did. It had almost became a PITA to use by the end.

While holding the windows button the screen comes down to bottom half, but in last build i was able to make it full screen just by taping in the top half of the screen whereas in this build am not able to do so. The only way is to again hold the windows button. Is it just me or anybody else is facing the same issue?? Also battery life has gotten worse. On the positive side I like the scaling feature, its awesome. My only gripe its that the onscreen navigation keys are also getting smaller. It it stays the same it would be great. Am using Lumia 640XL

It's good( Not best yet!!!). Everything looks fast and smooth. I am using it on my Lumia 920 but I had to do a hard reset to get rid of start screen loading issue(Worst thing that can happen to you.)
But after hard reset its working fine.

build was initially slow and buggy for me pn 640 after an upgrade from 8.1.I went back to 8.1 for a couple of days, then got bored. These builds always seem to work better for me after I,

1. Go back to 8.1
2. Do hard reset while on 8.1
3. Upgrade to w10m
4.Do another hard reset while on w10m

It is strange to me that this is the best process, but I will do this now for each new build because Ive had no problems sonce,no app crashing, loading, everything works great, battery excellent.I also did this for the last two builds

Here's what I found on my Lumia 1520:

my messeging app does not show live tiles..
notification on lockscreen also not showing well (except for Outlook mail)

Messeging App, VLC, Photos, tend to crash a lot.

Very Low Quality resolution of photos taken with Camera app even when settings is set to 4:3 (19MP). Only 1440x1080

When Size of Text is set to 175-200%, calendar app is only at day/week view, no monthly view, no other options to change the look.
I like the Edge Browser on 175% though. But I can't get to open Facebook on desktop version even the preferences is set to Desktop.

Battery Life is bad.

People app still sucks. No what's new on groups.

I still wish I could test the new FB Beta, but..yeah.

Groove Music's gapless playback is awesome, but there are still some noticable small gaps in between songs. I use iPhone's music app, I can tell the difference.

Same here, on the L930 Action Center takes a while to appear.
Once you've pulled it down, it gets faster, but initially it takes a second or two...

Other issues I'm facing :

- Apps don't appear on the task switcher, pressing the back button brings them back
- Apps not being closed properly, this is new in WM10 i think? Every app remains in-mem.
- Somewhat delay on unlocking, apps being resumed. A lot of 'Resuming' of apps, generally not taking a long time, but still...
- Flickering of the start screen, lock screen, apps... Not blocking, but annoying.

Apart from these issues, this feels like an overall stable release.

Some tips :
- Reset to wp8.1, upgrade to WM10 via Windows Insider app, Reset WM10
- Re-install Windows Insider app afterwards and enroll to the WIP again, this should fix app download and language download issues.
- Reboot the device every couple of days

Battery life has decreased slightly, still getting a good day's use out of the device, 30-40% remaining at the end of the day.

Some interesting trivia, WM10 runs equally fast on the L635 (512mb) as the L930, with the exception that the 'Resuming' screen takes longer on the L635.
