Windows 10 Mobile build 14926 Discussion (Redstone 2; Inactive)

Re: Windows 10 Mobile build 14926 Discussion (Redstone 2; Fast Ring)

Lumia Icon here, no issues AFAIK, unfortunate to know people are having a hard time with this build on this phone...

I've upgraded my 650, even if the release notes suggest it should have failed. Successfully installed, so if you own a 650, give it a try, it may work.

Re: Windows 10 Mobile build 14926 Discussion (Redstone 2; Fast Ring)

Windows Phone Camera app has been not working since the last update, with a few camera app updates not fixing the "saving" bug.
This update 14926.1000 has NOT fixed the ridiculous issue and the camera is useless. Keeps saying "Saving" and does not work at all.
I know it's a Preview OS but don't mess with my camera. I accept all other issues, but keep the smartphone making and receiving calls and taking pictures and videos. Otherwise, it's a brick.

Extract from the blog:

ADDED: We are investigating small set of isolated reports that after upgrading to Build 14926, the pin pad is no longer visible to unlock the phone even after rebooting the phone. If you have hit this issue, you can follow the steps here for resetting an unresponsive phone (hard reset) which gets your phone back into a working state on Build 14926.
ADDED: We are also investigating reports that after upgrading to Build 14926, some phones lose the ability to use their SIM card. A hard reset also fixes this issue as well. See this forum post for more information.

Re: Windows 10 Mobile build 14926 Discussion (Redstone 2; Fast Ring)

So far for me in this build:

1) Cloudmuzik fails to play any song. Soft resets and reboots unhelpful.

2) Phone froze at 3:44am (as my glance screen helpfully showed me), so my alarm failed to go off at 5:45.

Yeah I too was hoping for it to work, but no such luck - 650 DS here.

Anyone having problem with the battery usage? It's taking ages to charge and blink to discharge.

Re: Windows 10 Mobile build 14926 Discussion (Redstone 2; Fast Ring)

I installed this build on my 950 XL DS US and really haven't noticed anything different. Cortana text to speech seems a bit more stable.

No problems on my 950 DS US. I did notice an improvement where music apps used to disappear from the task switcher after running in the background on the prior RS2 release, now they remain accessible via the task switcher.

Re: Windows 10 Mobile build 14926 Discussion (Redstone 2; Fast Ring)

My Lumia 650 cannot install this build. After finish download and reboot gear animation about several minutes and windows icon popup. Not finishing installation. Already back to old build windows 10 using WDRT and same thing happen.

Can you state when the install was done & are you noticing any excessive battery drain?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Windows 10 Mobile build 14926 Discussion (Redstone 2; Fast Ring)

No dice, I'm afraid. Reinstall changed nothing. Everything seems to work in the app EXCEPT the music player.

Google has changed their API recently, hangouts client only recently been updated to reflect this, cloudmuzik and other apps that I purchased #grumble# has not worked due to this.

Re: Windows 10 Mobile build 14926 Discussion (Redstone 2; Fast Ring)

I've solved the SIM and Keyboard issue with a hard reset but now I have problems restoring some Apps (for example Aeries), I don't know if someone have the same problem, the instalation app stops always at this point: "Restoring user data".WhatsApp Image 2016-09-15 at 18.43.30.jpeg

Re: Windows 10 Mobile build 14926 Discussion (Redstone 2; Fast Ring)

I rolled back to the AU on my 950 due to many issues with photo sharing via Outlook and general instability in the Photo's app. It's like a breath of fresh air having a phone that just works once again. Also my phone has been off charge since about 7am this morning and it still has 52% charge at 9pm - I didn't get that with the RS2 builds!

One thing I do miss from RS2 that was very useful was the shrinking of photos when sharing them via Outlook. Now it sends the full resolution file again meaning massive files. I'll take the extra stability over this feature though.

I installed it yesterday when it was released and no I have not seen any excessive battery drain. No better or worse than the last build.
