Windows 10 build 15025 now rolling out for*Insiders on PC | Windows Central

Other changes, improvements, and fixes for Mobile

  1. We fixed an issue resulting in the Outlook Mail and Calendar tiles sometimes no longer updating for some Insiders until the tile had been resized.
  2. We fixed an issue where insiders with certain devices, such as the Lumia 635 and 636, might not have been able to manually change the brightness.
  3. Windows Insiders should no longer have trouble connecting to certain Google sites due to an implementation of a new security model being rolled out to further enhance user security.
  4. To help save characters when typing in fields with a character limit, we’ve added a new ellipsis child key for Latin-based languages (such as English, German, and French) when you press and hold the period key on the touch keyboard.
  5. We fixed an issue where the Quiet Hours quick action button in the Action Center wasn’t working in recent builds.
  6. We fixed an issue where notifications using stylized icons had an unexpected amount of padding underneath for high-DPI devices.
  7. We fixed an issue where receiving a new email notification and tapping on it to open the message wouldn’t open the Mail app or message.
  8. App developers can now request to pin their primary tile, just like secondary tiles, allowing apps to highlight their awesome live tiles – see this blog post for more info.
  9. We fixed an issue where on some Lumia phones, such as the Lumia 950, there was no dimming prior to the screen turning off.
  10. We fixed an issue where pressing the Print Screen key on the keyboard in Continuum wouldn’t take a screenshot of the second display.
  11. We fixed an issue where preview thumbnails weren’t appearing as expected in the task switcher when using Continuum.
  12. We fixed an issue impacting apps written for Windows Phone 8.1, where they might crash if certain types of dialogs were open in the app and the touch keyboard came up.
  13. We improved battery life when OneDrive or similar tasks are running in the background.
  14. We fixed an issue where the Cortana live tile would appear blank and not showing the Cortana icon for some languages.
  15. We fixed an issue where pressing the mic button in Cortana, and then immediately pressing the Go button on the keyboard, would result in an “I can’t hear anything” error, rather than speech input being cancelled and a search performed.
  16. We fixed an issue where the description for the new Apps section of Settings referred to desktop settings rather than mobile ones.
  17. We fixed an issue where the touch keyboard wouldn’t dismiss after pressing enter when doing a search on the Apps & features Settings page.
  18. We fixed an issue where the media buttons on a keyboard connected to the phone over Bluetooth would stop working after Bluetooth had been turned off and back on.
  19. We fixed an issue where Settings might sometimes appear blank except for the search box (until it had been closed and reopened).
  20. We fixed an issue where the Settings gear would appear pixelated on high-DPI devices when Settings was pinned to Start.
  21. We fixed an issue where Settings might hang and then crash after tapping on “Fix Me” or “Start\Stop Insider preview Builds” on the Windows Insider Program Settings page.
  22. We fixed an issue where Settings would crash on the Sign-in options page if you tapped “I forgot my pin”, set it up again, then tapped “remove”.
  23. We fixed an issue where a string saying SystemSettings.ViewModel.SettingEntry was unexpectedly displayed on the Narrator Settings page.
  24. We fixed an issue that could result in the Messaging app icon on the lock screen sometimes appearing as a red X as opposed to the expected message bubble.
  25. We fixed an issue resulting in videos captured with the Camera app unexpectedly appearing with a greyed-out thumbnail in Photos.
  26. We fixed an issue on recent builds resulting in cellular connectivity sometimes unexpectedly not working after a reboot for Insiders on certain cellular networks.
  27. We fixed an issue with certain connected Bluetooth peripherals resulting in Groove Music not resuming playing music after ending a Skype call.
  28. We fixed an issue resulting in the Podcast app being muted after the app had been suspended.
  29. We fixed an issue resulting in Narrator not being able to read the list of possible tones that could be picked from ringtones when selecting an alarm tone in the Alarms & Clock app.

Known issues for Mobile

  1. Speech packs will be unable to download on this build.
  2. The ninja cat emoji display in two characters on the keyboard instead of the expected one.
  3. Adding a new card / paying with an existing card will not work in Microsoft Wallet.
  4. Microsoft Edge might sometimes unexpectedly not rotate into landscape mode. If this happens, try quickly locking and unlocking your phone.

Is your device behaving oddly, is something just not right? This is the place for discussion of software and hardware issues!
[TIP]Here is some useful information you may find yourself needing.
Some issues with responsiveness and app delays can be resolved by either restarting your phone or performing a Soft Reset.

If things get a bit more serious, you may opt to perform a hard reset or software reset.

Lastly, if things really get serious, you may need the Windows Device Recovery Tool to recover your phone back to working order - head over to the Microsoft FAQ Page for more information.

Make sure you check the official Windows 10 Mobile Support Page as well for some of the most common tips and trouble shooting guides.[/TIP]
[INFO]Restarting your phone involves turning it off and then turning it on again. Turn off your phone by pressing the power button until you are prompted to "Slide down to power off". Turn your phone on again by pressing the power button until it vibrates.

A soft reset is similar to pressing the reset button in PCs and has the same effect as pulling out the battery of your phone and then putting it back in. For phones with non-removable batteries, press the volume down and power button together until your phone restarts. Be aware that when using Windows 10, the voume down and power button combination will also launch Windows Feedback. Just continue to hold down the buttons for a full 10 seconds in order to trigger the soft reset. For phones with removable batteries, you can either opt for the button combination or remove the battery and then return it.

A hard reset or a software reset will reformat your phone by removing all the user information leaving only the bare OS and firmware currently installed in your phone. It does erase data so you should always keep a good backup of your phone just in case you have to resort to this option.

The software reset can be done by going to your phone Settings > System > About > tap on "Reset your phone." You will be prompted once before doing this just to be sure. Be sure, also, to have everything backed up since there would be no way to recover all of your files.

The hard reset accomplishes the same thing as the software reset, but can be accomplished when the phone is non-responsive and you are unable to enter into settings. To perform the Hard Reset, "Power off the phone > hold Volume Down > press Power > keep holding Volume Down until you see the exclamation (!) screen, then immediately release the Volume Down. Now tap Volume Up / Volume Down / Power / Volume Down. You should see the spinning gears and your phone will reflash the last OS version held in recovery.

The Windows Device Recovery Tool is the final option, for example for "bricked" phones that would no longer turn on, be charged, etc. This can be used to either roll back to a previous OS version or force an update to a more current OS version[/INFO]
Remember, when reporting bugs be descriptive! The more information you give, the better the chance someone will be able to help you.

What OS version? Any special conditions that should be noted? What were you doing? What is the result? Any error codes or messages given? What have you tried for solutions? What variant of the phone are you using? Single SIM or Dual SIM?

Please describe as much as possible about the bug so others may try and replicate the bug and don't make suggestions for solutions that you have already tried which have failed.
[INFO]When reporting bugs/issues, please also use the Windows Feedback app to report issues directly to Microsoft. Microsoft don't actively read forums looking for people reporting issues when they have a data collection system built right into the operating system. They use WF to analyse numbers and prioritise fixes (issues with more reports, get sorted quicker).

"You can use the Windows Feedback app to tell us which features you love about your Lumia with Windows 10, or when something could be better.
1.To launch the app, swipe over to the App list, and then select Windows Feedback.
2.See if someone else has given similar feedback by entering the topic, such as Microsoft OneDrive.
3.If you find similar feedback, tap the Upvote or tap on the feedback to open it, write the problem details to Add details-field and tap Send.
4.To narrow your search to a specific topic, you can filter the results by picking the category that matches your feedback the closest. For example, for feedback about the Microsoft OneDrive, select Apps and Games > OneDrive.
5.If you don’t find any similar feedback, tap + to add new feedback. Select the correct category and subcategory from the dropdown-list.
6.Enter your feedback (the more details the better!), add a screenshot if you can, and tap Send.
7.Your feedback will automatically upload when you are charging your phone and connected to Wi-Fi, but you can also upload the feedback manually by tapping … > Upload feedback data."

Lots of great fixes, I ran into several of the reported bugs over the past weeks.

Not many new features, so I'll be here to find out about the exciting new bugs they developed. :) Hope this one is better than 15007 on 950XL!

Cool...Just noticed that my Start screen "appears" more vivid in this build, more so than in any other. I have my phone's theme set to "light", and as a consequence, the Start screen has always appeared somewhat washed out, compared to a theme set to "dark". I like it.

Also: NO ISSUES encountered during update.

Looks promising, just installed on my 950 DS, let's see what happens.

Have a choice to make, a development at work will require me to use an app that is not available on Windoz, I really don't want to carry two phones. I will need to use the app 7 days a week, when not at the job, I will be doing an on call service evenings and weekends which has to be done through the app. (it is Cadillac Roadside Assistance) So I went and picked up a $49 Galaxy Express 3 GoPhone to familiarize myself with Android, and I think I will be carrying two phones LOL!

I may complain about Windoz 10 mobile, but Cortana and Outlook and Groove, even though it is a battery HOG I really like how they are so simple and clear. To get an app to read texts and be a voice assistant seems to take two apps. It is really cluttered and fragmented.
Gotta figure this out, I have been using*"that phone"*since last Sat and I put my sim back in my 950. I think if I switch to a dual sim Android I will regret it.......

This build appears to have hosed my trusty old Icon. Appeared to update without issue, but upon reboot, won't advance beyond the blue windows splash page. Have tried soft reboots, no joy. Guess it may be time for WDRT again, if I even decide to bother. At this point I'm pretty much done with W10 mobile.

Really wanna install this build on my 950, but somehow my WiFi is having connection issue (not just the phone. The WiFi itself isn't working. Contacted my ISP and they say everything "SEEMS" to be fine, but whatever's happening, I can't connect to the internet via WiFi, only my cellular data), so am trying to download the update using my cellular data. However, the OS just wouldn't let me do so because the update is too big.

Anyone managed to download this build over cellular data? If yes, could you tell me the size of the update?

Approx 1 GB. Only way is putting your SIM in another 3G / 4G device and enablingh tehering / wifi sharing on it, so you can connet via wifi

Noticed the following so far:

1) Live Tiles working much better - almost perfectly for most of my pinned apps

2) Cloudmuzik won't run in the background. Had to stream using Groove on my way to work, which I hate as it uses so much data. Hey, MSFT, how about adding the ability to set streaming quality in Groove settings?

3) Store "Check for updates" button remained greyed out with the spinning dots indefinitely when pressed. (Soft reset fixed that.)

4) Some connectivity issues. Some apps telling me I was not connected to the internet when it seemed I was.

Seems OK so far L950, but they nearly always are OK initially, it's after a week or two that they start crapping out generally (for me).
