Hi,
I have a windows phone 8.1 app on the store, it is currently available for W10M OS too.
In my app I'm giving various notifications each with a dedicated sound, while this worked on WP8.1 it is not working anymore out of the box in W10 where the sound is overriden by the one specified for the app in the OS settings.
Is there any way to make this work in W10 with some new api? Any workaround?

Thanks.

The override is there for a reason: To prevent confusion and to let the user take control, so no, you can't really do that
One alternative that works only while your app is not suspended (foreground only in mobile, all the time on desktop), is to disable system notifications for your app, then play your own sounds from the context of your app. That way you can achieve distinct sounds, but this works only inside the app and while it is running. Implementing this has another downside, it is inconsistent with the rest if the system.
