Windows 10 Mobile released for Lumia 730/735 (Officially)

No.. but you can do a hard reset on W8.1. Then install Win10. Again do a hard reset. Start configuration from scratch :) with no backup

I checked Upgrade Advisor app and it confirms that Windows 10 upgrade is available for my Lumia 730.

I want to avoid upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. I am OK to loose all the existing data/setting on the device.

Is there a way I can directly install Windows10 Mobile on Lumia 730? (Something like in Laptops - we format old OS and install the New OS from scratch)
I recommend you to download w10m and upgrade from 8.1. From there, you update w10m .164 to .318 build and then perform a reset. That way, it ensures you have latest patches, bugfixes and an updated boot image as well as OS image.

I just updated my L735 to Windows 10 Mobile and everything so far seems fine except it seems when I am sending a text or looking at a text it seems to be lagging/slow like a delay after I tap on the message to read it or send one, has anyone else experienced this as well?

If you upgrade the Lumia 735 on Verizon to the current production inside build, you will also most likely lose the ability the have voice and data running at the same time. The option to turn it on is there, but when you reset your phone, like it asks, it turns back off.

I've heard some disturbing news about W10N and Verizon. Bear in mind this is a "friend of a guy who knows somebody..." kind of thing. But this person has been right before on such things.

The word is that Verizon is NOT releasing Windows 10 Mobile for the Lumia 735. There will be no official release, so if you want it you must go the developer/insider route and install the beta builds as they are released.

Is Windows Device recovery tool giving windows 10 directly for lumia 730 as of 30th May 2016 i.e I wanna know that if I use windows Device recovery Tool, Will it install windows 10 on my lumia 730 or Install windows 8.1 Denim again?

People with Unbranded lumia 730, how was your experience? Also mention if you formatted your phone after update when you mention your experience.

Windows Device recovery tool will give you Windows 8.1 Denim for lumia 730. Recently I have done it.

I was facing problem in some apps (like: Camera, Photos) after upgrading to Windows 10 . Lumia Selfie Camera app was not capturing full screen photos and click speed of all camera app was very very slow . Photos app was taking much time to sync new photos and you need to wait for some moments every time to see a photo after clicking :unhappy:. There was also problem like: application crashes, auto brightness etc.

After recovery using Windows Device recovery tool it's working smoothly as before :smile::smile:.

WDRT tool will take you back to Win8.1 . Not for the new win10 devices though

yep, battery is good. A bit slower than 8.1 . Nice UI and settings/notifications bar. Photo app sucks, it's like gigantic IOS photo app which I dont like. Actual app icon(within a tile) looks magnified on start screen, so it appears bigger :(, and medium tile is *lengthier* in proportion to original w8 . Tons of more colour options available for theme :), Also.. you can enable transparent tiles against background.
Email client is like Gmail app(android) so no longer the simplistic emails view :( . Multitasking (long press back button) has cards like view on a single window... much prefer the older one and is quicker on that. I have not seen any problems so far after direct upgrade :) . Dialer is much better now you can tap in numbers and contacts will be fetched automatically, so sort of android that way. Alarms app has World Clock, Stopwatch and Timer included  - much appreciated. Overall it's a mix and mash of Android and IOS. Live tiles still rocks though

So is this a official from Verizon or windows insider?

lol that's my first review on WP10m. it was the official build that came through the update program, forgot its name.

edit: even after 3 builds, performance is more or less same. Windows 8.1 apps take wee bit more time to load, game performance is ok, a bit laggy compared to the preloaded 8.1 version :-)

To the best of my knowledge, there is no official build from Verizon yet. The last time I was able to check was a few days ago and there was no official build yet. I don't have a 735 myself so the only times I'm able to check is when the person I know that has it is around. But anyways, for the moment, I'm pretty sure only Windows Insider builds are available for the 735.

You went back to windows 8.1 or you formatted back to windows 10? After updating, you should do a format. Did you try formatting and using windows 10 on lumia 730. Was it giving problems them?

I have done recovery using WDRT. No, I have not tried formatting/hard reset of Windows 10.

That was really easy. Remembered my network and Bluetooth connections. Deleted any non-compatible apps and updated apps to Windows 10. Even used my old wall paper and my start screen layout. Everything seems to work fine so far.

I got W10M on my Verizon Lumia 735 yesterday. You HAVE to use the Upgrade Advisor app to get it though. UA finds it and then enables Phone Update to download/install it. Without using Upgrade Advisor the normal update procedure will never find it. Upgrade Advisor walks you through it - takes an hour to an hour and a half.

Been using the Verizon Windows 10 update for a few days now. Seems to work very well and I'm impressed with how well the upgrade process goes. Microsoft really did their homework on this one.

Good to see that Verizon is apparently not involved with obstructing the regular Windows 10 updates to the 735. My PCs and 735 received the 10586.420 update at the same time today.

I'm impressed at how smooth W10 runs on the Lumia 735. It's mid-range hardware so I was worried the 735 wouldn't handle it so well. But wow, it's a great experience. Of course NOthing is going to help the Edge browser, but that's not the Lumia's fault - it's a W10 thing.
