Windows 10 performance is abysmal

My laptop is only 4 months old, So i don't think my hard drive old,and I only use it for internet browsing.

As I said, there can be many other reasons. Do you use a third party anti virus software. Sometimes, it can also hamper your computer's performance. That's why I prefer Windows defender. Another reason can be Chrome browser. It does not work that well with Windows 10, especially when you open a number of tabs. Other than that, there can be driver issue.

Another very common reason can be background scan or background Windows updates. That can slow your computer till the install is over.

But I can say with absolute certainty that Windows 10 is fast. I run it on my 16 GB tablet with Atom processor and it never disappoints me.

Ah, well traditional HDD failure rates peak at 3 months, then 1 year, then 5 years. So, you could well have a failing HDD. At 3 months, and even at 1 year, all HDDs will be covered by guarantee. Not so much at 5 years. Have you tested the HDD with the manufacturer's utility? Have you at least done a SMART test?

If you have the superfetch services, on and working, then Windows SHOULD be using a lot of ram
