Windows 10 slowing down my PC

Here are my specs:

i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50 GHz
32 GB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7850

For some reason my system has been running like it has 8GB of RAM ever since I upgraded. For some reason I can't even play a 1080p 120fps GoPro video without lagging like crazy. It plays fine on my MacBook pro.

Anyone have any ideas?

Windows 10 is not finished product. It will need to take like 2 more major updates until it becomes really useful. Windows 10 only works great on commercials! They said it will run great on devices that are made for Windows 7. Yeah right..don't know why then its not working great on your PC as well.

On my PC it didn't even work smooth after clean install. Still takes time to load things up.

So don't worry, just wait until Microsoft releases two (or maybe 3-4) major updates and make it stable.

Did you upgrade or install from iso?

If you upgraded, I would recommend doing a fresh install.

If you don't want to install fresh, make sure all your drivers are up to date as manufacturers are still pushing out Windows 10 drivers.

An 8GB memory system would handle playing such video smoothly. I'd guess this is due to a video driver issue.

How can a process eat all his 32 gb of ram??
Sorry Gleb W10 is on beta right now, why don't you use your mac?

If a process that normally uses a few hundred MB of ram is using a few GB of ram, that's usually a sign of something wrong. Same with CPU... If for example, 32 bit chrome has a tab using 2 gb of ram and 40% of the CPU, you can bet the issue lies in chrome.

Speaking of which, 32 bit chrome currently chokes running videos and will eat up a substantial amount of your system resources.

Open task manager and see what is eating your resources as quaintly mentioned above.. I have a Asus laptop with core I3 4gb ram intel 3000 graphics and it's pretty smooth playing video.. I use plex to stream video over the home network to the big screen and play videos in the bedroom on the server off it with no hiccups.. I did the upgrade from win 7 to 10 then clean installed from the iso. I did not install any of asus's oem drivers or software from their website.

My macbook isn't my primary work device. I use PC 90% of the time.

It actually is starting to run a little faster after I cleared off the HD. I had 200GB free on my HD but I guess it wasn't enough. I cleared off some stuff to make 600GB available and it made a huge difference. Regular MP4 videos from the gopro work fun, just not the 120 FPS one. Reinstallled the drivers and it didn't make a difference.

I upgraded, but still considering doing a fresh install.

At least I can now use lightroom without make video skip on my 2nd monitor. Thanks for the help everyone!
