Windows 8.1 ISO Question - Will It Work From My Main Windows 8 Key?

I need to rebuild my system and I want to use a TechNet Windows 8.1 ISO. If I do this, will it accept my Windows 8 key? I'd rather not go from 8 to 8.1 again and just go to 8.1 directly on the rebuild.

So if I read that article right...I need to do a clean install with a TechNet key first and then change back to my original Windows 8 key?

Thanks... that did the trick. I installed with 8.1 and a TechNet Key and activated it. Then changed the product key back to my original key and it worked. Now to load updates, load my apps back and get my start screen back the way it was.
