Windows 8.1 preview on HTC 8XT

Hello. Just bought my wife a Windows 8XT phone yesterday. My 8XT updated to 8.1 preview last month, but the new one is not finding the update. Preview for developers is installed and she is registered. Any reason why she is stuck with Windows 8 while I have 8.1 on the same exact phone?
