windows 8 product cycle increased

Yesterday.. when i checked the microsoft support site.
It was saying that both windows phone 7.8 and 8 would end mainstream support till 2014..

But today it updated to 2016 for Windows 8 Phone.
What do you say? would we get far far away future updates like windows phone 9 (maybe).. sorry at&t users.. i would pray for god..

They changed it from 18 months to 36 months for wp8. I'm guessing near the end it'll be security and bug fixes

They also stated that when a new revision of the OS is released, the support extends again. So when 8.1 is released, the support will extend to another 36 months.
