Windows Insider app not working? Just closes when clicking Get preview builds

I had a failed update today, problem installing from SD card?, so I decided to reset the system and try again.

This time the Windows Insider app closes as soon as I click on the Get preview builds. I've tried reinstalling the app too. And keeping the SD card in and out of the phone.

Everything I could try failed so I'm using the Lumia recovery tool to reset the phone. Now it's taking agonizingly long to get through the require app downloads before I can get the Windows Insider app. Downloads are fast, it's just a really long pause between each app download.

Using the recovery software fixed the problem with the Windows Insider app! Only pain was having to go through all the app updates before it would install the insider app. And that was with not doing a restore.

I used software recovery tool for my Lumia 1320 and restored it from a backup, and after that I wasn't able to install the insider app. So the mistake was restoring?
Should i follow a fresh installation?
