I like bent edged tiles but I think if Microsoft gives options to choose it would be even better

That would throw off the entire purpose of the design in my opinion.

Rounded squares/rectangles goes against the core design element of the Modern Theme. I challenge you to find a single rounded rectangle in the WP8.1 or W8.1. Circles are allowed in modern design, just so you know.
