Windows Phone 8.1 available for Lumia 710?

As the title says, I am curious if Windows Phone 8.1 will be available for Lumia 710. I have a friend who owns a Lumia 720 and he told me that he read somewhere about it. Is it true?

It's impossible. I have 710 and 1320. And old wp7 devices could only be updated through 7.8 and impossible to project further.

There is no chance that a wp7 and that too one that's 3 years old will be getting Wp 8 or Wp 8.1.
I think ur friend was misinformed and probably thought u had a 720 cos its a well known fact since 2012 that the last update for wp 7 phones was gonna be the wp 7.8.
If u still use a wp7 lumia 710 as ur main phone I suggest its time u upgraded as ur really missing out on a lot of good stuff .
